The End of the Year, the Result and the Trip

Salam..

Seems like the closer we get to the year 2009, more and more people starts to reminisce back and recounting their 2008 experiences. Well, the truth is, I really think that time is moving so fast! And try as I might, I just couldn't recall everything from earlier this year. Nevertheless, there are some memories that I will treasure forever.. All the incidents that happened, all the scandals that we've made (hahaha.. Girls, you know what I mean..), in the end all it did was bring us all together, closer than ever..

It is kinda sad to think that this time next year, all of us could be going our own way. Some might continue on in the academic path and obtain higher degrees, and some of us might start working already. Those choices that have to be made, and paths to be chosen, I do hope that all turns out alright in the end.

Anyway, today is the day my last semester results is out. Actually, I had a sleepless night yesterday, thinking and worrying about things today. Alhamdulillah, it was okay. I was really hoping that the result would be able support my CGPA which by the way is on a downwards trend since the last few semesters. And fortunately, it did!

I am happy!!!

Hehe.. Couldn't resist to put that one up. Lol.. Still, it would have been nice if my Plant Design is higher coz we did work our --- off for it. After all, it was starting last semester that I started to warm up to the concept of staying up becoz before this my curfew is at the latest 12.00. Nevertheless, I am thankful for what I got, and even though hoping that it is better, what is done is done. There is no need to look back, rather than planning out for the future.

Oh well, labwork-wise, I am at the second stage of my work - bacteria identification. It has taken me two weeks already to deal with Gram staining but it is still not enough. And due to my trip starting tomorrow, I won't be continuing it this Friday.. Hehe..

Well, a girl gotta have her break, right?

About the trip, yep, I'll be going on a holiday starting tomorrow, taking advantage of the Christmas holiday and the weekend. Where am I going? Well, this time we're going to the North, namely the states Pulau Pinang, Kedah and Perlis. There are plans to visit Langkawi and Penang, while also diverging to Wang Kelian on the Thai-Perlis border. And if time allows it, we'll singgah at my Grandmum's house for a visit.

Sorry for the last post. It might not makes sense, especially for those who didn't know what it's all about, or for that matter, whom it's about. Well, I think its suffice to say that I'm on the verge of trying to make it better. Sometimes, this things needs time to clear up, so let's just hope for the best, ait?!

This conference, well to me at least, is somewhat of an eye-opening event, mainly because it is through this that I see how an international conference is conducted and what it all involves. The plenary talk was quite good, although I really had to listen to what some of the speakers say in order to understand what they are talking about. Maybe because of the accent difference? Hehe.. I did gain some additional information usable for my thesis tho. But, all in all, it is a good experience. Though I have to admit, the food was the highlights of the day!

My Thesis Initial Work..

Salam..

How's the holiday so far?? Haha.. To tell the truth, it does not feel like a holiday to me at all because for the past two weeks I have been constantly at the lab doing work for my thesis.. Haizz, why oh why my cultures are growing so fast?!!

LoL..

Guess it is to be expected. Dealing with unknown number or bacteria species is something that requires diligent work and constant observation. Haha.. Anyway, I know I've mentioned my thesis title a long time ago, but the truth is, my supervisors wanted to try something new, which got something to do with termites..

Termites??

Yeah, those whitish ant-like creatures which really likes to eat the wooden part of our houses to the point of total destruction. Only for my thesis, I did not look for termites at home, but those which utilizes waste as it's primary source of food, namely palm waste.

So what I did was to go search for termites at.....

Palm oil plantation.. Preferably at the reputan-reputan kayu and daun.. =)

Hehe.. It's interesting, and it needs a lot of work, so I do think that sacrificing this holiday time is worth saving some time during next semester. After all, we're going to have 22 credits for the last semester which is the highest number of credits we've ever taken this 4 years of studies.

A Commencement of a Makeover...

Together As One..

Last week, something happened that had undoubtedly shaken me up, not to mention my friends.. And the first thing I felt was guilt. Someone trusted me and asks me to do something, but I wasn't able to do so..

Gosh, I feel so horrible.. And it's only after making sure everything was alright that I am able to make peace with myself.

Dearest friend, if you're reading this, just know that I'm sorry I couldn't be there..

As it it, life is too precious to be wasted away.. And somehow I know you didn't mean to do the things you did, but please know that your friends are here.. If you need any help, we'll gladly extend a hand to you.. And even if all you wanted is some company, we'll be there. So please, don't just think of this life as an endless hopeless and bleak one, coz even though it may seem that way now, with us beside you, I know you WILL make it through. Always have faith that things will get better, and that you'll come out of this a stronger person.

Raya Post : Part II

Haha.. The second post about Raya.. =) Actually, the reason I want to post this up is because its been AGES since I've uploaded the pics to Blogger n kept it in the drafts, but didn't have the time to blog about it.. So, as today I'm FINALLY free (read = finished my exams, don't be jealous k.....), I'm finally posting it up..

Anyway, the first batch of pictures were taken in Mid Valley during our impromptu buka puasa event during the busiest time of the week, Friday! Hehe.. I tell you, the commuter was packed!! It's worse than sardine can, cause those sardine can't breathe already, but we can, and oh my, the scents, the air, the attitudes of some people... Ugh, lucky it was fasting month and everyone kept an extra tight rein on their temper, or else, body parts would be flying!!!

Haha.. Suddenly 300 movie flashes come to mind.. LoL..

Well, back to the story, after surviving the eventful and 'refreshing' ride, we arrived at Mid Valley.. The plan was to bowl, then break fast, but alas, it was not meant to be.. After prayers, we head to the food section, and EAT, EAT, EAT!

Sorry, no pictures.. Didn't want y'all to see us stuffing ourself with food! =p .....Not! Hehe.. No la, us good girls have to eat with manners ait? LoL.. After eating, and drinking, and laughing, and talking, we move on to window shop.. Ye la, scholarship is almost bottom dry, no money to shop around.. =)

Next, is the raya celebration that I went to.. Hehe.. I did go to Miss W's house for her open house. An incident happen, and cause me to halfheartedly wave my $$ bye bye, but it was a great day nonetheless!

The food was great, the company even more so.. Hehe.. And that day marked the day that someone did something.. Quoting a friend of mine, You-Know-Who buat You-Know-What and We-All-Know-Who balas dengan We-All-Now-Know-What.. Haha.. Those who don't understand, better remain so yea, don't want you all to makan daging, even though the meat is usually great..

Haha.. Just ignore the previous paragraph, coz I know you don't understand.. Lol.. Anyway, safe to say that I bumped into Faizal's car, his got kemek'd and mine, just fine.. Very, very, very sorry dear ex-schoolmate!

Raya Post : Part I

Salam..

How's Raya everyone? =) I know, I know, today is already the start of a new month, but I've been trying to find my muse for days now.. Haha.. Finally only today I did it.. Lol.. Anyway, mine has been great, apart from struggling from completing various works and assignments and projects, but well, life as a student is like dat right? Looking back, the stressful environment sometimes makes us (including me) strives to work harder and forces us to kejar the dateline.

Oh well.. When reminiscing (cewah!! As if it's been 'that' long pulak.. Haha..), its kinda funny to think about all the things that happened in this past 2 months. Lots and lots of stories surfaced, some things unexpected, some things kinda weird and some things downright funny.. Haha..

Anyway, lets start in the fasting month..

Post Mortem... Huh?

Salam..

Things have been so busy, so I'm really, really sorry if anyone got dissappointed with my lack of updates, and please don't be upset if I haven't commented on your blogs these past few weeks..

Actually my group has already submitted our design project on Monday, and the presentation was done on Wednesday.. Report-wise, at that time I was oh-so-glad to finally submit it. We've gone through a lot of hurdles, things that had shaken me up, questioned myself and reevaluate my priorities.. What to do when you have to choose between a friend and your responsibility? I admit that I was very lax while dealing with that, because it's just not in my nature to hurt someone intentionally, more so when said person is already in an emotional breakdown him/herself. And I know that some of my friends are angry that I was being too nice..

Truthfully, I don't know what to say or do.. A lot of my anger is not my own (at first), but comes from other people who are forced to go out of their way to be able to meet the deadline.. And it's not like I didn't have to, I did.. But I just couldn't scold or marah-marah somebody. Haiz, that's why people said being too nice is a problem. And then, I was in limbo for a few stretches of days, evaluating the pros and cons, and at the same time trying to finish up the work.. And balance the act of keeping the smile on my face, and feeling like crying coz I've been pushed up a corner..

*sigh*

Then comes the presentation day.. To say it bluntly, it was like a blow to my face. I expected the questions and probes, but I never expected the incident that happen. Safe to say that we are all very sad and dissappointed.. I was sad and dissappointed. I know that the seed of the incident comes from our own mistakes, but we never thought that it would get that bad, and that out of hand.. =((

*sob*

But thinking from another side, yes, it's better to make mistakes like this here (as in now) then when we're working. Quoting someone,

"Takpela you all kena sekarang, you all masih student, tak ada reputation lagi... Kalau ada kesalahan yang kamu buat pun, masih ada masa untuk diperbaiki..."

And thinking about that, it is very true.. I'd like to think of it this way, if you do make mistakes now, at least you are aware of it, and you can learn from it, and it would likely stay with you forever. After all, incidents like that are hard to forget. So, in the coming future, you can take a leaf out of those ego-bruising moments and make sure it won't happen again.

After all, at that time, you do have a reputation to take care of, right?

=)

Oh well, I really do think I'm like a pregnent woman, each day having dozens of mood swings.. Haha..

Anyway, really got to get back to work soon.. There's the correction to make and compile into the final report, thesis presentation to prepare for, iCon and SuperPro simulation assignments to take care of, and Management individual project to finish, all due next week.. To add to that, we;ll have an exam next week. Then, will need to submit thesis report.. And let's not forget the final exams..

So, take care everyone!! Once I get everything in order, will resume my previous blog-hopping-and-commenting procedure, ok?

Salam..

Just a quick one today.. The fact is, my laptop got stolen. And the person responsible even took my bag containing :

• 2 of my pendrives; 1 2GB and another 256MB. First one was bought last semester while the other is a gift from MISC's Navigate Your Career last year.
• My old pencil case.. I've had it since I started in UKM, and was hoping to use it till I graduate, but it seems like that's not going to happen....
• My new lab coat.. Just worn it once. Huhu..
• Notes; this includes my cp exam pad that I've studiously write all the notes, be it Safety (my coursemates know how MUCH notes that one have...), Design, ICON and lots more!
• My thesis note book where I scribbled all the infos and tidbits I've found, also the various methods and references I'm using..
• My calculator, which I've been using since Form 5..

The thing is, it's not the physically lost things that I regret. It's more towards remembering all the memories that were associated with all those things. We can always buy new things and even cheaper if you're talking about laptops and pendrives, but the sentimental value is not that easy to regain..

Oooohh, my laptop.... I'm gonna miss all the pictures inside... =(

3. Buy a new house, give free rein to Mum and Dad to do as they pleases with the decorations and all..
4. Do tonnes of things I've wanted to do but couldn't coz had the money constraints.. Eg : Took up piano like I've wanted to a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago, riding lessons, archery, shooting, joining the sponsor-a-child programme, and lots more! Life Is Full of Contradictions...

Salam..

It has been a great day so far, and I hope that it will continue to be so. Thinking back to the years I've gone through, this life has been so full of everything, it's like a potpourri of life's experiences. I've been happy, I've been sad, I've felt confused, I've felt angry, I've felt cherished.... You get the drift.. =)

And as much as I hated feeling all those negative things, I know that as humans we will never be able to escape them. And I'd like to think that going through all those makes me stronger somehow; and this is thoroughly necessary coz human's experiences will always go from bad to worse as time goes by.

I'm not saying this coz I'm pessimistic; on the contrary I try to watch things on the brighter side.

Seeing the glass half-full rings a bell?

So, whatever life throws at you, take time to grieve@sulk@rebel, but always keep in mind that it won't always be so mundane and dreadful.

Be happy, and live life to the fullest!!

When Life is Hectic, Go On and Take a Breather...

Salam..

How's life been?? I know a lot of my friends have begun to feel the immense pressure coming from the fact that there's just a LOT of things to do in so little time! And sometimes we feel so sad and angry coz so much time is lost doing these without leaving any to enjoy ourselves.

Well, my advice, do take a break.. Because when we are pressured, our behavior and our perspective tends to point a bit to the negative side, and we won't be able to give our all to the very things that cause those pressures in the first place. And yes, there are people who work better under pressure, care to share your secret?

Another thing is that when 2/3 of the major projects this semester being a group project, it's very important to be able to adapt and work well in a team. In a sense; teamwork. But sometimes, it is hard to do that when instances happen that made you feel like a wreck.

I'm not making sense, am I?

Well, I am naturally a cheerful person. I don't like to raise my voice to people, I don't like to scold anyone, and I certainly don't try to find people's mistake all the time. So, naturally I expect people to do the same for me.

So what if I made a mistake once in a while? There's a lot of things that I can tolerate, but rude people just don't cut it.. I admit I have my ego.. Once you try to stoke it, I will never treat you the same ever again.

Haizz..... Why do people always tend to do silly mistakes like this? After years of working alongside people of different views and upbringing, we would expect everyone would go along -ok- with each other, but when things like this happen, it tends to make us wonder..

Still, during this busy, hectic life, it doesn't hurt to take a breather once in a while.. Last Tuesday, my friends and I went to release our pent-up frustrations and tensions by hitting the bowl..

Hehe.. Playing bowling, I mean.. Hehe.. It was a spur of the moment decision, with Miss A voicing out her thoughts and demanding (ehehehe...) us to comply.. LoL.. So, Miss Z, Miss W (who is wearing a jubah that day) and me (while wearing my baju kurung) went to the place..

=)

It felt so nice to be able to play again.. Hehe.. I'm a bit out of practice but the keyword here is not actually to win, but to enjoy myself.. And I know my friends did too!! We mock-fight with the kids playing beside our lanes (one of 'em is really good.. =p), accidentally laughed when the showing-off people on another side of ours missed his shot (hehe.. Not my fault, Miss A snorted first.. LoL), posing like a pro bowler while wearing a not-so-professional-clothing-at-least-to-a-real-pro-bowler, displaying an erratic show of throwing (and I mean throwing, literally..) the ball and so much more.

Wish we would be able to do so again. =) Sorry didn't post up pictures (beside the one down there) coz afraid Miss A, Miss Z or Miss W would wring my neck if I do so.. Haha..

The Scores... =) Guess who's winning?? LoL..

That said, do take a break people!!

As busy as I am, I know that something's gotta give.. Yesterday was my Mom's birthday so my Dad n I cooked her dinner.. Hehe.. After all, it's been too long that this blog haven't been graced by pictures of food, right?
