Leadership by example

Salam dear readers..

(Eh kejap, ada lagi ke readers lurking around?)

It's been ages, I know. It feels like since I started working, my life only revolves around work, home, family and work again. Even FB is something that I don't find the luxury to spend time on and sometimes its sad because the more you become silent on FB, it feels like the more out-of-touch you feel with your friends.

Fortunately, there is whatsapp.

Nowadays, whatsapp has become a norm to keep in contact. We can have one to one messaging complete with pictures, videos and locations to share or we can have groups that connects our friends (and family, and colleagues, and old schoolmates, and scholarship alumnus, the list keeps going on and on...) together.

Even at work we rely on whatsapp, with groups of colleagues, some include the boss and some secretly omitted the boss for more NSFW talks (although to be fair, my best friend at work, F, did mention her boss being the one who always forwarded gossipy and funny things in their group, so to each their own, I guess..). The most I appreciate this is when my team is working outstation. We went to Manjung a lot for our pilot plant project and as my team is quite small (actually, 'quite' is an understatement! Really! I kid you not) with 3 researchers and one technician. So usually we are split  into half with 2 person at Manjung while the other two stays at the office. That is, if the work is only routine. If it requires all of us to be there, of course we'll all go.

So getting back to the whatsapp feature, its a blessing when our team are split as we are kept up to date with on-goings at both sides. We can have life feeds from site, complete with pictures and videos to accompany it. So discussions become easier to do, and decisions are made faster.

Oh well, I really felt like I've grown a lot through my experience at work. And my boss has been a blessing in so many ways; his treatment of his subordinates is friendly yet assertive, he keep his open-mindedness so that my colleagues and I could always speak our mind and discuss anything, anytime; he pulls his own weight even while doing physical work at site (as I've mentioned our group size, and we are handling 1m x 2m (width x height) columns that sometimes involve lifting, washing, and there is the water - I remember a time when we were transporting about 100 to 150 litres of distilled water from lab to site - not easy even with 2 ladies and 2 gents. There was also one time we were transporting gas tanks on foot and going uphill - its not pretty, my friend. Not pretty at all. Fortunately we used a trolley, but going uphill? *sigh* Those were the days..) But above all others, his leadership shines through in the way that despite our small number, our group is one of the best performing group at work. His penmanship becomes the reference for other researchers at work. He is not stingy with his knowledge and he's not shy to ask his subordinates on the things he doesn't know. Working almost impossible tasks becomes bearable due to the atmosphere at work, and I've always felt secure to share my opinions and be myself.

I do hope that in the future, if I may be in any position as a leader, I will do so with yours as an example. Thank you Mr N for all you have done, and for restoring my faith in a boss that I can admire and relate to.

And, readers, thank you for reading.

ps: This is not a post to hint for a promotion okayh :p After all, my work colleagues does not even know this blog exists :) Its just that I feel like I've gone through another stage of my life, and I am truly grateful for the experience and challenges I have faced. Now I'm ready for the next. In sya Allah. Wish me luck!

Take care people! :)

Years go by...

Salam..

It's the mandatory once-in-three-months update, people! =) Oh well, just kidding. But wouldn't it be nice if there is a blog-keeper that would blog for you as soon as you experience something that went *BAM!* and "I've gotta blog about this!" before the moment passed by and your thinking went to ecstatically bursting with anticipation of sharing the news, to uncertain-because-it-felt-like-old-news?

I'm rambling, I know.. Haha.. Been a while since I've casual-writing. Lately, all I ever write about was my conference paper, presentation slides and all things academic, so its kinda hard to shift back. Others might or might not experience the same thing, but alas, my muse is playing hide-and-seek with me.

Actually this post is just on a whim. To tell you the truth, I'm waiting for the my next sampling (back to experimental stuffs, see) as it takes about 15 minutes for centrifugation. =) But, I don't wanna bore anyone with these details. ;) Sometimes, we all need a little time off, to clear our heads or just reevaluating ourselves and our values.

This last few weeks, I've been thinking a lot about who I am, who I wish to be and what would happen in the future. Of course, Allah s.w.t. has plans for all of us, and it is to Him that I seek enlightenment. And I truly hope that whatever happens in the future, I shall remember who I am, and the values that I seek will continue to guide me in anything and everything I do, insya-Allah. =)

ps : I've been thinking of closing this blog, at least for a little while. Maybe experiment on some other kind of writing? =) And it might or might not happen, sooner or later, only time will tell.

Let It Go..

Salam..

It's certainly have been a while.. Forgive me for the lack of post. =) That is, if anyone was waiting for one. *wink wink* It's just that although sometimes I really want to share something, thinking of the expected reactions of people who read puts me off.. I guess everyone felt so at one time or the other, and it depends on ourselves on how to handle it.

Research-wise, I'm currently keeping up with my timetable to run my bioreactor once every week. Hopefully, I could still work as usual especially with the coming of the holy month Ramadhan.

Personal-wise, things have been a roller coaster ride, with things unraveling unexpectedly. I've now learned (for the second time) that caution is a must. Even though familiarity would sometimes cloud our judgement, trusting our inner voice or what people call instinct is ultimately better in the long run.

=)

The best thing is, however, I'm fine. I've spent some time mulling over things that cannot be undone, and all the damages that I can't control, angry at myself for being too naive, and making my life a mess of unchecked anger and frustrations. But somehow, with the unchanging nature of the people around me, the wound is healing. The scar might always be there, and the phantom pain might sometimes cause me bitterness, but all is as it should be, alhamdulillah.

To my dear friends (you know who you are!! *hugs and kisses*), thank you for simply being there, sharing my pain and being the constant I need. =)

Things will be okay, I know it will, insya-Allah..
Love y'all!!
=))

I leave y'all with my favorite song right now; Iridescent by Linkin Park.

Template Designer.. My Current Obsession. =)

Salam..

For those who know me, they were quite surprised when my blog was decorated by hearts (of the lovey-dovey kind) last time. Especially Miss Nad who I seriously think went, "Aik?!!" with a perplexed look on her face while viewing the page. (Nad, need your confirmation for this.. Hihi..)

=)

Nevertheless, that is not the reason why the background has changed (yet again). The fact is, I simply like to play around with my blog template, and the background, the links, the layout, everything. Which is why, I love Blogger's Template Designer.

Live preview of the changes.. ;)

Do check it out if you are a Blogspot user. You could also upload your own picture as the background of your blog. Personally, I love the Abstract pictures although there were also some good ones in other categories.

=)

Till next time peeps! Thanks for stopping by. =)

"Our greatest joy and our greatest pain comes in our relationships with others" ~ Stephen R. Covey

Salam..

It's been quite some time that all of us have been together, but once we did, feels like no time has passed.. Friends come and go, this is very true, but to keep those friendships alive, we need to work for it. Just like any other relationships, there has to be some give or take. Although I have to admit, the amount of work you did would naturally mirror your true desire of how much you want it to work.

So, remember you loved ones (be it, your family, friends, acquaintances etc etc) and be sure to let them know how much you love and appreciate them. It's good to have them in your life, as the world would be too lonely without them.

=)

ps : Here's a snapshot of our lunch last Friday.. Cik Zira, so sorry sebab gambar cik xde.. Nak kena tunggu gambar dari kamera Cik Wan.. Hehe..

Domino's!! See the lady looking on to our mountain of pizza? She's really puzzled because she was sure we couldn't finish all.. Lol.. But in the end, we managed to clean everything up (minus 5 slices), haha.. =)

So, anyway, thanks for stopping by.. Take care y'all!

I've Lost Count On How Many Times I've...

Salam..

It's certainly been a while, isn't it? The truth is, this is attempt #20++ a.k.a. I've lost count of how many times I wanted to update this blog. I'm sure a lot of us have experienced this, where once something happened, the first thing that comes into mind is, "I'm going to blog about this, later."

Only that 'later' sooner or later becomes 'not ever'. One of the things I've noticed is that, once the excitement has passed, I started to question, "Hmm.. Should I post this up? Ala, malas la pulak nak menulis. Banyak lagi benda nak buat.."

--> First moral of the story, don't procrastinate things okeh!

Another thing that I sometimes struggle over is the fact that I'm overthinking about what people *want* to read, as opposed to what I *want* to write. After all, I think most of us who write or blog, truly and really appreciates it when there's feedback from people who read it. It makes me feel warm and understood when this happens, so when none were given, I start thinking that, "Well, this is not interesting enough. Let's find some other things to blog about." So basically, the intent to write has now changed. And that, my dear readers, stresses me out. Period.

--> Second moral of the story, truly understand why you want to do something. If it's truly for personal gratification, then that should be the push @ motivation for you. Surely, you'll feel much more satisfied with result. ;)

So now, I'm thinking of transforming this blog. But, of course, nothing big, just expect some changes on the topics I'll post about. Hopefully, y'all still be reading this after kayh.. Because I will try my best to keep Hearts in Two alive. After all, we've managed for almost five years now, right?

All the best to all! And as usual, thanks for reading!

Design of Experiments and Design Expert

What it is all about.. ;-)

Salam..

I went to FST (Faculty of Science and Technology) today for a short course on design of experiments. Well, mainly it focuses on the usage of Design Expert software for designing our experiment according to the specific objectives that we wish to obtain.

It is very informative, especially since I sincerely think that design is first and foremost when doing experiments, and unfortunately as someone from an engineering background, I don't think that I'm fully trained on the experimental design side of experiments. Sometimes when my dad ask me questions about my research methodology, I'm quite stumped to answer the theoretical part (he always asks me about t-test, post test, and such).

"Engineers use the theories, scientists develop it" is basically what I've been taught. So sometimes it is quite hard to imagine the importance of it, which is why some exposure to this part of research methodology is very important.

Oh well, have to get back to the course. Will update on more of the importance later!

The software! =)

Thanks for reading.

And sorry if the subject bores you to death.. Hehe.. Sometimes I just open Blogger and write, and this is the result! Lol..

Me out~

We'll Be A Dream..

Salam..

Sometimes it is hard to just wait for something to happen. But the thing is, when you're trying your best to just 'be' there for them, you tend to over-accommodate them even though it's not naturally 'you'.

*sigh*

Why is it *that* hard to decide and put my overactive imagination to rest??

Oh well, with that being said, I just want to share something I'm currently obsessed on :

We'll Be A Dream
by We The Kings ft. Demi Lovato

Oh-kay, enjoy the song! And thanks for still being here, reading these, after all these years..

New Changes

Salam..

After more than a month without any updates, I'm back.. It's not from a lack of trying though; a lot of times I wanted to write, and managed a few paragraphs then deleted it again. Sometimes the things felt too strange to be shared with the world wide web and the other times it felt too private.

Oh well, what is the use crying over spilt milk eyh? What is done, is done. So now, lets just move on to other things.

Now, notice the new design? Haha.. After so long of not opening Blogger, imagine my surprise when the new and improved templates with no-hassle design preferences is advertised. I loved it! After playing with different templates, changing the background and small details, thins is what I come up with. Like it?

Now, do check out the design templates (for those who use Blogspot of course), it's so easy to use.

Till next time, thanks for reading.. =)

"The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart." ~Elisabeth Foley

Salam..

After my last post (with attempt to start writing poem again), I noticed that my friends were concerned due to the dark themes that I diverge into. And I really appreciate their concern even though sometimes I respond evasively. The truth is, I am not ready to share it yet. And it's not because I lack trust in them or something along that line, but its more towards the fact that I'm just not ready. And this might stem from the fact that I've always depended only on myself, being the only child, so I tend to keep it all in. And sometimes I really fear the thought of being alone, so much, that I'd rather put on a smiley face than share the burden with those around me. In my head, I want to be happy when I'm with them, rather than feeling sad and teary-eyed because of things that are out of my control.

I'm really sorry; I really am. I'm trying to change, opening my heart bit by bit to try and let people in. But please give me time. In the future, who knows?

=)

Friends to me, is something very precious, especially those true, sincere friends. I've had a lot of acquaintances, true, but friends that truly care for you is hard to find. I still remember back then, its so hard for me to connect with people my age. My best friend when I was still in BTR was 1 year older than me (so you can imagine how hard it is to hang out together when you are 9 or 10 years old. The only time we had was during band practice and recess time). Then, I had a love-hate relationship with my rival in Standard 3; we were close like sisters but fought like cats in academics. Then, when I had to move after Standard 4, my life was suddenly so different because I had to meet an array of new people at a new school. There was no one that I knew, and no music classes to fall into, and my new classmates were so used to each other that I felt like an outsider right from the start.

The truth is, that is what all new students felt like, don't you agree? But back then, its like a big challenge and I keep asking myself, what can I do? And what I did was retreat back to what I know best; read. I haunted the library every free time I had; and by the time semester 1 ends, I had borrowed almost all the books I deem interesting to read. And the librarian was so used to me that I became the informal assistant for students who wants to borrow books. And it was through this ordeal that I began to make friends who also love reading as I made it easier for them to hang out in the library. And slowly I began to make peace with my classmates and slowly integrate into their close knit groups. The truth is, even back then, I learn to stick by my friends. I still remember one time when a classmate declared war on one of my friends (one word : puppy love), we all stick together and defend her. And when you had people who supports you, life seems so easy and you assured yourself that you can go through everything. Even now, I felt that it is true because when problems start piling in and it feels like the world is crashing down, sometimes to solve it we have to stand back and just take a breather. Think about everyone that still supports you, and know that these people will continue to do so even when you fall. Have faith in that, and then start to see the problem with a fresh mind. From my previous experiences, this helps me to focus on the most important thing, and keep the distractions at bay.

Back to the story, when I started secondary education, with new surroundings, things were better because almost half of the class is my friends from primary school. And some new faces were not *that* new because we go to the same sekolah agama. So fitting in were not quite as difficult as it was before. And because our class is the experimental class (we were the first batch in the school to learn Arabic for PMR, thus the appropriately named 1 Agama), our classes were a teensy-beetsy different than others, and this makes us quite close to each other (more so because as it was, our batch was the only one to make it to 3 Agama thus stamping our domination on the 3A initials). And in this regard, I truly admire the boys of 3A because they still retain that closeness until this very day.. And it was during this 3 years that I began to see why at that age, friends were extremely important. The things we do, the things we say and the way we act, all were in one way or another, being influenced by the people around us. But its suffice to say that during those time, I am truly lucky to be with those whom I could connect with. And the memories of things we all did were imprinted in my mind, along with secrets crushes and codenames that we used. I remember being crazy over Dicky Cheung (of the Journey to the West fame) with Iena, of sawi's and kangkung's with Dilla, of super spy (I wish) secrecy of ADK's drug prevention with Shamina, of canteen day with our classmates, playing at the lake with the Gang, Pasir Salak trip, and lots more. It never fail to put a smile on my face. =)

The once boys and girls of 3A (well, partially),
now grown-ups at Akid's wedding.

Well, still lot more things to say. So, this concludes the first part of this post.. Stay tuned for the next one! =)

ps : Next one will dwell on Semashur & KMM.. And the last part will be on UKM.. =))

“When it snows, you have two choices: shovel or make snow angels” ~ Anonymous

Salam..

These last few days has been such a roller-coaster ride; I can feel happy one moment and *blink* anxiety comes knocking.. Alhamdulillah, what I have been waiting for all these while has finally come. And at the same time, the existence of another offer pushes me to really think of what I truly want. So, right now I have a decision to make.

Why, oh why, do I only have such limited time?!!

PS : In an info-gathering mood (well, its more like a frenzy now..). My dear friends, thank you for your support all these while. =)

"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves." ~ Carl Jung

A friend said that I will get married after getting my PhD.

Hmm.. With the rate of the things going on right now, "Berjanggutlah korang nak tunggu yours truly kahwin.."

Haha..

ps : Pointless, really.. Just updating for the sake of it. =)

It's Asteroids, All Along..

Just yesterday, while watching National Geographic with my father about pterosaurs (the flying dinosour), we had a discussion about how dinosaurs were wiped out. And today, a consensus has been reached saying that asteroids is the cause. It is said that the asteroid crashed into Chicxulub in Mexico (this place is now actually a 180 km wide crater).

. : Picture taken from Wikipedia.org showing an impression of the impact : .

The impact is so tremendous that it is equal to the force of a billion atomic bombs that descended on Hiroshima, imagine that. Of course, this is a long time ago, and what we do have are speculations, but these are grounded in evidences found. Nevertheless, with that kind of impact, all living things in the vicinity would be destroyed in a blink of an eye, but how about those far away?

Well, after the explosion, the debris and ash would have filled the atmosphere therefore blocking the sunlight, leading to sudden climate change (no energy from the sun means its cold; winter), deaths of photosynthetic organisms (which is the main food for herbivores leading to their deaths and causing the predators to be wiped out due to the dwindling food supply). And, because dinosaurs were reptiles, which means that it is cold-blooded, they could not adapt to the cold surroundings as effectively as mammals. I remember reading that reptiles had to bask in the sun to regulate their body temperature (when the habitat they live in is cold), or employ other creative means to lower down the heat when its too hot. Of course this is just my speculation based on observations; have to read more about this later.. LoL..

Oh well, it is interesting to read about. Do come here if you want to read the gist of it. And its 1-0 for me.. Heehee..

Till next time!

“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting, that is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - That is patience.” ~ Anonymous

Salam..

It is already March, and the third month of the year marks my fourth month of being unemployed. Oh well, when I put it that way, it does seems that bad right?

=)

After all, it seems like everyone is moving forward with their careers, some are getting married, and going to various wedding celebrations will of course guarantee a meeting with old friends. And one of the never-missed sure questions is, "Hey, so what are you doing now? You've graduated right?"

Yes, I've been a graduate since August 2009, which is 7 months ago. And since then, I've been working for 3 months and quit when the contract is over, while at the same time applying for various positions at various institutions, going for interviews and dreading the outcome every single time.

I applied for Khazanah Watan Scholarship which, for me, is the toughest yet (compared to Shell Scholarship Award) due to its stringent interviews, exams and such. Shortlisted for the 1st stage (which consist of IQ, personality and aptitude test), got through and went for the second stage (where interviews, Apprentice-like board meetings and tasks were given). Waited anxiously for the result and fortunately enough got through to the third stage (which is the final stage and my turn for the interview done by the senior management executive of Khazanah Nasional is interestingly enough done at 7.30 pm).

Went for interview at Universiti Malaya (where the only other candidate is a UK graduate with a sweet smile). Got an email from UiTM inviting me for interview which is complete with a mock teaching session and I chose a field which while I'm sure is becoming pretty important, is quite too specialized compared to conventional chemical engineering subjects.

Both now resides in the same category; my name is submitted and is waiting for the Registrar's approval. And subconsciously I think the current economic condition is preventing the University(s) from hiring but I'm still hoping for the best..... And just a few days ago an email informing me of the outcome of Watan Scholarship finally arrives. Therefore I will be going for the briefing session which hopefully will give me some insight into the deal.

Had also went to some other interviews where one stands out due to the fact that I did not realize I'm being interviewed (and make quite a fool of myself by trying to lighten the mood up and failed miserably) as opposed to just chit-chatting about the topics involved. Being given an ultimatum by another possible-interviewer to come for the interview conducted on the same day with another interview (which I've already committed myself to) and eventually I had to let it go as it would be unethical for me to break my word.

Sometimes it's funny thinking back on all that has happened. But then, money is also a very big issue. The truth is, although I had my own savings, it's never been my habit to spend it because I know how hard it is when you live without a fall-back plan. Therefore, after buying a new laptop to replace my faulty Dell lappie (whose motherboard is toasted), I kinda felt some regrets because after repairing, the Dell machine is working just fine with a motherboard replacement (which costs me almost half 1k) and I hardly use the new one.. *sob* So now, I'm totally broke (and while I think it's an accomplishment to live on my last pay for 4 months when you factor in the fuel, maintenance and food its hardly a good thing walking around with barely RM100 in your bank).. Therefore, I'm thinking of looking for some temporary jobs such as being a RA for 2 or 3 months maybe? So, anyone got any info on this? Lol..

Will update later. Had to find some inspiration to write again. This post is just to let people know I'm alive, and no, I'm not becoming a recluse or something. Honestly I think that FB is being an unsurprising addiction and I think my pets are getting hungry; better go to Pet Society to feed 'em..

Lol.. =p

Adios~

"A man's brain has a more difficult time shifting from thinking to feeling than a women's brain does." ~ Barbara de Angelis

Salam..

It's December already. Sometimes (well, most of the times nowadays), I feel like time moves too fast. But haven't it always seems that way when you're in a deadline? And won't time feels too slow-moving when you're waiting for something?

=)

As it is, I'm both waiting on one thing and am on a deadline for another. So following the process of thoughts above, I should be feeling limbo eyh?

Haha..

Not such luck, I'm afraid. Actually, with pressures from both my parents and my current predicament, I feel kinda rushed to at least get a confirmation of sorts. It would be nice to not always worry, for a change, no?

=)

I am sorry for this mindless wonderings. Haha.. Walking down memory lane, it seems like my style of writing have changed considerably these last few years. Back then, I wrote things that I can read so easily and fluidly, whereas right now, I've got to truly put my mind into it to get those creativity juices flow.

Reading my old Friendster blog seems to enforce this. It's funny thinking I wrote all those posts because I could barely remember it now.

I'm thinking that perhaps my thinking nowadays tend to lean towards my left brain. Well, guess I better start exercising my right brain again.

Right brain?

Alright, time for lesson #1 :

Right and left brain actually refers to the hemispherical parts of our brain. For simplification's sake, our left brain is usually responsible for our logical thoughts, while left brain are mostly related to creative thoughts; hunches etc. That's why, left-brainers are thought to excel in logical jobs such as engineering, computer science and IT while right-brainers loves creative paths such as designers and artists.

Do read more on this if you're interested because some of it is quite technical therefore I did simplify matter by explaining it this way. =)

Anyway, I *do* think that my left brain is more developed, and this is supported by available online tests such as here and here.

Actually there are tonnes of other tests out there, some more fun than technical. It's just up to us to find it. After all, in this Internet-dominated world, all known informations is just at the tip of our fingers, right?

Good luck!

And thanks for reading.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." ~ Winston Churchill

Salam..

After suuucchhhhhhh a long time, I've kinda lost the eloquency of writing.. Haha.. Not that I don't know what to write, it's just that even though I've got tonnes of stories to share, there will come a time when I just thought that its better to leave it be..

Oh well, what else to say.. Things have been quite challenging nowadays, what with the thoughts of future and the needs of the present colliding together and mashes things up so finely together that I no longer know how to differ one from the other.

Safe to say is that at this point, I'm considering two 'quite-the-same-route-but-not-quite-really'; first is pursuing my Masters here doing the research that I am doing now, or secondly, by applying for work. Yeah, I know, its a dilemma of some of my friends also at the moment. It's just that with two major opposing force that pulls me here-and-there, its hard to be the one who has to give the final say.

Somebody help me!!!

Its just that, by nature, I'm not someone who did anything by impulse. I over-analyze everything, so much that sometimes its hard to get to the crux of the matter. Its just the way I am. And deep inside. I know that the best thing for me is Route No. 2, mainly because I really like the safety of furthering my studies while at the same time having the security of a job. Some might say that I'm greedy by saying this, but the truth is, I really think that it is our own right to what is best for ourselves. That is something like a reward of studying and getting the best result for the last 16 years, don't you think? Ha-ha..

O-kay, mungkin kedengaran angkat
bakul sedikit di sana, harap maaf.. =p

By the way, I will post something about the last few interviews I did, especially for Khazanah Scholarship because frankly, it's something very interesting to me, and might give others some ideas on what to expect if called for the interview.

Till then, adios!!

And thanks for reading.. =)

And the Future Looms in the Horizon...

Salam..

So sorry dear readers for the relative silence of this blog for weeks. I've been busy trying to make myself busy enough to make it worth the salary that I'm earning. Oh well, there's only so much reading that one could do anyway..

=)

So, how's its been? As you'll probably realize, the month of August has been full with graduation ceremonies for a lot of universities in Malaysia. And guess what, mine is on the 16th which is this coming Sunday! And that is 5 days away.. Somehow, I just can't believe how fast time flies. It seems just like yesterday that I started as a first year student, with all the awkwardness of a new environment and a sea of unknown faces.

This four years have been great, considering all the fun and troubles I've gotten into and the things that I've learn along the way. After all, these experiences is what shapes you, right? And I don't know how much I've changed, but I know for sure that some aspects have changed for the better.

And the friends I've met and made has, no doubt, make the experience so much sweeter. So, congratulations girls!! You guys ROCK!! =)

Anyway, the rehearsal is going to be on Thursday. I will be going with wan, anyone wants to join us? Hehe.. Perhaps we'll have an early photo shoot session.. *wink*

Lastly, congratulations to all who had, are and will be graduating!

Thanks for dropping by!

Monday Morning......

Salam..

Just a quick update.. Hehe.. Its been 2 weeks since I've started 'working' and its been relatively quiet.. Just some funny accidents, and miscommunications, added with some reading-up on my part, I can safely say things are beginning to become a routine.

Come in at 8.30 straight to the lab, open up laptop, taking the necessary things outta my bag, read my gene cloning book, going online, facebooking, checking out mysoju for latest episodes (or old ones, depending on my mood), waiting for others to come, getting bored, jalan-jalan mengacau orang, waiting for lunch time, lunch, surau, back to the lab, online again, read again, then walla! its 5.30.. Go back..

Haizzz.... Oh well, things should be picking up soon.. The routine will supposedly be broken today coz I'll be going to FST this afternoon to meet my guide.. Will get the gene template from her and her friend will teach me how to design primers. Hopefully, I will be able to design my forward and backward primer a.s.a.p, so that I could start with PCR..

My terribly cluttered desk, just the way I like it!! =)

Oh well, last week has been full of me getting headaches and questioning if this is what I truly wanted.. There's so many choices, and frankly we are spoiled by 'em, co much that sometimes whatt held us back is just the comfort of things familiar to us..

Entah la.. Berfikir, berfikir dan berfikir... Just hoping that the best choice has been taken.. =)

Wish me luck, people.. And thanks for reading!

Just a Quickie...

Salam..

It's been a while, and I know I've been neglecting this blog for quite some time.. Oh well, what can I say, actually there's a lot to blog about, but couldn't find the will to update.. Actually now I'm busy with my thesis writing.. Just yesterday, I've submitted my Plant Design Project, and it is a relief knowing that it is out of the way.

Most importantly now I am aiming to finish off my writing this week, so understandably I have to decline all requests for KLCC @ MidValley @ SunwayPyramid etc.. Hehe.. So sorry dear friends, especially one that I haven't seen for such a looooooooooong time... Fret not my dear, I will plan our outing day when the time comes.. Hehe..

Oh well, just a quick update today.. Off to do writing now.. Wish me luck!

=)

Mending a Broken Heart..

Salam..

It's been a whirlwind of a week, with a lot happening and things to be done. And I was so happy that things have been mending itself at last. But, it all comes down to one thing in the end, when the roots are already shaky, the tree itself could never stay upright for long.

It's funny, coz when you think everything is going ok, it bounces back to where it all started. And truth to say, I'm tired of it.

Gosh, why must I always talk about depressing things in my posts these days??

Haizzzz.........

What grates on my nerves is that I don't like to be this way. This way means always feeling negative/depressed/stressed. A few years ago, someone commented on me,

"Eh, how do you always keep being happy yea? You are always relaxed, even when everyone is feeling the heat!"
Frankly, I missed those days. Not because I didn't have problems that days, but I've always been able to find the lighter side of things, no matter what the situation is.

Anyway, I guess it's time to make a move. If it's a change that I want, then I must make the change, not wait for my surroundings to change to my liking.

=)

Oh well, time is ticking.. It won't be long until the last week of studies now, and then we'll have the final exams, the presentations and viva. Hopefully I'll be able to finish my labworks by the first week of April.

And to all my dear friends, especially the ones who never fails to make me smile, thank you people! You are the ones who kept me going.. And even though sometimes I didn't want to share my problems, just know that I just didn't want you to be dragged down in this. Your presence beside me is all I need. Really!

=)

Love y'all!
And thanks for reading..
