Design of Experiments and Design Expert

What it is all about.. ;-)

Salam..

I went to FST (Faculty of Science and Technology) today for a short course on design of experiments. Well, mainly it focuses on the usage of Design Expert software for designing our experiment according to the specific objectives that we wish to obtain.

It is very informative, especially since I sincerely think that design is first and foremost when doing experiments, and unfortunately as someone from an engineering background, I don't think that I'm fully trained on the experimental design side of experiments. Sometimes when my dad ask me questions about my research methodology, I'm quite stumped to answer the theoretical part (he always asks me about t-test, post test, and such).

"Engineers use the theories, scientists develop it" is basically what I've been taught. So sometimes it is quite hard to imagine the importance of it, which is why some exposure to this part of research methodology is very important.

Oh well, have to get back to the course. Will update on more of the importance later!

Reflections...

Salam..

Final exams has already started, so really want to apologize for any wrongdoings or anything lah.. Hehe.. And with the study program, and revisions and all, I have to say, this blog will be on HIATUS for a week or two.. That means, no updates, and no pleasure-online-ing for me for this week and the week afterwards. My timetable :

1. 25th of April = Bioreactor exam
2. 28th of April = Mechanical Design exam
3. 30th of April = Utilities Design exam
4. 2nd of May = Bioseparations Design

Haha.. Still a lot to cover, questions to answer, discussions to prepare for and lecturers to meet.. LoL.. Wish me luck yea..

And I am really thankful because my Dad came back safely.. He went hunting on Friday, but only managed to get home on Monday. Didn't bring his meds, any clothes of even daily necessities.. Aiyaa, my mom and I were VERY VERY worried... I didn't have the heart to study, and those were the longest days of my life. Nevertheless, he did came back, and I was SO very happy, and I know I stretched my face with my smile.. And thanks to my friends who were there for me, luv you all!!

A Birthday Wish...

Salam..

Today is the 1st of December and for some, you might recognize this day as the World AIDS Day much to the displeasure of my Dad though, because frankly,


IT'S HIS BIRTHDAY!!


Hehe.. Poor Dad.. He really hated the fact that this date is chosen as that day.. Anyway, doesn't matter Dad, thinking about it in another way, well, a LOT of people remembers/celebrates/reminisce on this day, so in a way, the whole world remembers your birthday..

Hehe..

Oh well.. My point here is actually, it's been a full life, and a roller-coaster ride with you Dad, and I'm glad that you're here with us all along.. You've been there when it's tough, and in some way, I'm glad that with this ever-changing life, you still stay the same.. Thanks Dad, love you so much!

May you have a great life hence forth, with many fond memories and granted wishes.. And we hope you'll life through this life with all the graces and wisdom that you've always shown..
